Wade’s the Man!

ZOMG! I’d kill to have Georgette dance a piece by Wade! **coughs** Um, Gette, this is a shoutout to you!
If there was anyone (at least I know) that can put poetry in motion, it would be Georgette. And obviously I don’t know much about dance, but among the throngs of up and coming choreographers who have made me appreciate lyrical dance or jazz…it’s Wade Robson that has me clamoring for more. This is a man who has transforend a BBoy (with no technical training whatsoever) into a beautiiful hummingbird…helped encourage Hok use his body as a conduit for elegance…and a style that most of us can only dream to embody. Jamie too has taken my breath away with her execution….and her lines…oh, god she’s good.
I absolutely love this piece and have spent most of the morning watching…and re-watching it. I’m going to apologize in advance for the formage reference but there is nothing cheesy about the beauty I see in this 2 minute number. I am in complete awe…

GAAAAAH, the wait for “Deathly Hallows” is driving me banana hammock!
I already know what I’m doing on my birthday; which also happens to be Friday the 13th…and it’s to situate myself with a bucket of popcorn in front of a ginormous screen to watch, “Order of the Phoenix”. I’m also going to come prepared with a box of tissues (just in case the death of Sirius Black will cause me to go apeshit). **sigh** Is it July yet??!!
Anyway, this video has been circulating around the net for quite sometime now. Mostly exchanged and shared between Potter-maniacs (or Ron-holics…or whereever your allegiance lies with). It’s cute. I have a feeling not a whole lot will appreciate it but I DO.
All together now, “Snape…Snape…Severus Snape…Snape…Snape…Severus Snape…”

New Doctor in the House

He’s quite adorkable, and he’s more popularly known as the latest (the 10th I believe) Lord of Time, in the BBC hit series, “Dr. Who”. He reminds me a tad bit of Noah Wyle, but once he starts blubbering about with his faux Engish accent he makes me turn into a puddle of goo. He is by the way, Scottish…
If you haven’t yet watched “Dr. Who”, I urge you to do so. My husband has the hardest time comprehending British flicks whether they be in the small or big screen (what a git)…but I on the otherhand am addicted to them. I have a mad fixation with them…all the time. I almost choked on my popcorn when I saw him in Harry Potter’s GOF. I didn’t realize he got the role of Barty Crouch’ son…
He seems so innocuous but he could also pull off the creepy-malevolent-boy-next-door roles, evident by his brilliant portrayal in “Secret Smile”. He is such a dirty little bugger in that one, he makes my legs wobble. **rowr**

“The Creation Ground Of Experience”

createdOur thoughts are powerful forces in the creation of our experience of life. You may be able to recall a time when frustration that was based on a misunderstanding completely evaporated when your understanding changed. This is because our interpretation defines our experience, and it can change in an instant. Our only true reality is the present moment, so rather than merely accepting that life is happening to us, we can harness the power of our thoughts to actively create a positive reality. For example, we can choose to appreciate beauty around us rather than focusing on traffic or look for admirable qualities in the people we deal with rather than focusing on the negative. By choosing how to interpret and define each moment with your thoughts, you truly create your reality.

Throughout the day, we can monitor our thoughts to catch ourselves in the middle of investing our energy elsewhere—such as into belief in limitations—and instead pull our focus back to the infinite possibilities of the present. Taking a deep breath will help us center our thoughts on being in our bodies right now. Regular meditation allows us to gain mastery over our minds so that we can still our thoughts to focus on the pureness of being. If we mentally dwell on the past or the future, we may miss the experience of living in the present moment. Setting and visualizing goals is wonderful, but we can bring our thoughts into our current experience by taking steps to create them now.

Our minds are powerful tools that we can harness to create our reality. Through them we move the unformed energy of the universe into form, which gives us direction for our words and actions. Each thought is like a stone dropped into a lake, sending ripples out into our world to affect all they touch. We can choose our focus and how we invest our energy, which gives us the power to design our lives to be whatever we choose in each and every moment.

There are just days when I feel like this…

And there are days when I want to pick up a rolling pin and chase after the fattest biggest couch potato of the family. Some days are worse than others…and when I feel inclined to cause minor injury to my husband, it normally is a good day. But when murderous rage clouds my thoughts…I start having internal monologues and scream, “Does Gretchen gonna hafta choke a bitch??!!”

I have been watching and re-watching “Pride and Prejudice” since Sunday…and I have good reason to.

I am not saddened by the omission of one of the most heart palipitating scenes (particularly the emerging-from-the-lake-dripping-wet-with-pecs-exposed portion …spectacularly displayed by uber handsome Colin Firth in the small screen version of ‘95) in the big screen version of PaP… seeing Matthew Macfadyen’s expressive baby blues is enough to send electric currents surging through my body (and dare I say, loins). This newer, younger version of Fitzwilliam Darcy is more strikingly handsome with an even more enchanting speaking voice to boot.
Dare I say that I’ve fallen in love with him…most ardently!

created…otherwise known in mutant circles (think x-men, bub), as Mini-Storm. Why? Because she’s like a little tornado; everywhere she goes, there is sure to be a trail of destruction. Hmmm…does that make her a super villain?
Anywhoo this whole, I-need-to-wear-swimming-goggles fixation is the newest addition to the many quirks we will just have to be accustomed to. Maia recently discovered the love for these latex spectacles last weekend. And ever since, we have failed miserably in removing them. In fact we always have to wait until she falls asleep before taking them off. The moment she wakes up, she roams about the house, with James in tow…searching for her trusty goggles. I love this girl to pieces; she’s quite unique, isn’t she? Everytime I see her with those things on, I am immediately reminded of that Cartoon Network bit, “Kids Next Door”. My son has started calling her #2 which I had to immediately correct because I didn’t want to start associating her new alter-ego with “bowel movement” (if you don’t get the pun, I’m just gonna have to say…I feel soooo bad for you). We now call her, Number 3, instead. God forbid she discovers flippers and then what would we do?

Blast dem auditors!

I simply without a shred of doubt abhor the IRS. Most evil plunderers! If already living paycheck to paycheck isn’t difficult enough, we’ve got insipid ass fuckers breathing down our necks. How I’ve never heard of an auditor assasinated in broad daylight is beyond me. Where is Robin Hood and his band merry men when you need them?
